MycoBim is a Barbados-based community initiative founded by Darren Le Baron and Errol McCollin, both with UK and Barbadian heritage. Launched in June 2024, MycoBim is dedicated to promoting the benefits of fungi and building a myco-centric community that supports both people and the land. Its mission blends education, wellness, and ecological restoration, with a focus on mycology's potential for healing, sustainability and cultural connection.

Last October, MycoBim hosted their first MycoBim Mushroom Wellness Retreat, an immersive journey into the enchanting world of fungi combining ancient wisdom with cutting-edge research. The following month, MycoBim brought together the UK's leading mycological experts from All Things Fungi, Bristol Fungarium, and MycoPunks with local island specialists to conduct a national fungi survey. The two-week survey covered selected locations across the island. Over 100 species were recorded, with this number expected to increase once DNA results are complete.

Registration is free, with optional donations welcome.
