Sidi Genus, is a native of Jamaica, she grew up in a small farming community in the parish of St. Elizabeth. Her love for mushrooms began 8 years ago after her first dose -"a life changing experience that opened my mind to things I once thought were impossible”. This led her to finding her passion for mushroom cultivation and holding space for those who need it. Since then, she has been cultivating mushrooms for her own personal use and for the service of others. Her training as a nurse has given her the skills to build her own mushroom lab and specialise in sterile tissue culturing, spawn production and maintaining a species library. “The things I love most about mushroom cultivation are: the care, love, energy, connection and creative sense it requires and awakens us”.

Psychedelics and The Goddess Mysteries - Online

Psychedelics and The Goddess Mysteries - Online

Online (10am MT / 4pm GMT)

The Goddess represents the personification of nature, motherhood, fertility, creation, destruction and embodies the bounty of the Earth. The term has been applied to figures as diverse as the Stone Age Venuses to the Virgin Mary. Motherhood is one of the universal human realities, there is no culture that has not employed some maternal symbolism when depicting its deities.

In the fifth century B.C. the Greek historian Herodotus attended the Mysteries of “the one who must not be mentioned” in Egypt, by a lake, together with other initiates. The Egyptian Mysteries had to do with the re-enactment of “his sufferings”, but more than that, Herodotus would not reveal.

It is in Greece that we have the amplest documentation of the oldest Mystery Cults – and it is Greek that has offered the term Mystery – from mysteria, which translates “to initiate”. Initiation was at the heart and centre of the Mysteries. The concept of Mysteries had its origin in Eleusis, an ancient cultic centre of goddess-worship.

Thanks to Apuleius, we know quite a bit about the procedures of the Mysteries of Isis during the Roman period. This ancient African goddess has her roots in Ethiopia and Egypt, where she seems to have played the role of the resurrecting goddess who brought the dead Osiris back to life

In this presentation Darren will explore the revival of the archaic feminine through mythologies and traditions, that connect the psychedelic experience to the Goddess mysteries. He will take you on a thought provocative journey and look at the origins of these Goddess practices in ancient Africa, Mesopotamia and Europe and how they have become coded in several mythological and psychedelic rites of passages throughout the ancient indigenous world to the here and now.

Psychedelics in Africa - Reloaded

Psychedelic fungi and plants have been used by indigenous African people for personal, spiritual and community development for millennia. Although not often recognised Africa has the oldest records and a rich history of using then not only for healing, but also for communicating with ancestral spirits, as divination tools and for navigating consciousness and the Entheogenic realms.

There are a plethora of indigenous communities using these organic technologies within their daily practice, rituals and initiations, and as part of their rites of passage ceremonies.

The Origins, History & Future of Psychedelics - Bristol

In this thought provoking presentation Darren will be sharing his extensive research on the origins of the indigenous usage of psychedelics.

Several communities use these sacred plants in their rites of passage, initiation ceremonies and daily ritual. We have discovered that when these groups left the African continent onto new pastures their practices travelled with them.

Darren will take you on a historical journey from the pre-historic ancient world and bring you into the here and now. He will also explore the current psychedelic renaissance (as some have coined it) and where we are potentially heading.
